Welcome Packet: Art Class Policies - September 2026
Welcome to Your Art Class
with Laura Kemler
A Warm Welcome
Thank you for choosing to learn and grow creatively with me. I’m thrilled to have you in class and look forward to supporting your artistic journey. This welcome packet outlines important information about enrollment, attendance, and cancellation policies to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone.
General Policy
By enrolling in small group art classes, the student (or parent/guardian if under age 18) agrees to the terms outlined in this Cancellation & Rescheduling Policy. These terms are enforceable for all scheduled sessions, regardless of payment method.
Cancellation Notice Requirement
Cancellations must be submitted to Laura in writing (email or text message) at least 2 weeks before the scheduled class time.
- Cancellations made with less than 2 weeks’ notice are considered late cancellations and are non‑refundable.
Enrollment & Reserved Seating
Once your payment is submitted through the website checkout page and confirmation is received, you are officially enrolled! Yea! Your seat is reserved exclusively for you for each Saturday within your purchased session.
You are purchasing:
· Quality instruction time
· Guided practice
· A supportive and inspiring class environment
Your enrollment reserves your seat for the entire session, ensuring consistency and structure for your learning.
Missed Classes & No Substitutions
If you choose not to attend one or more class days, your seat remains reserved and cannot be filled by another student.
Because your enrollment blocks that seat for the full session:
· Missed classes are not refundable
· Missed classes are not transferable
· Missed classes are not eligible for discounts or substitutions
This policy applies to all absences, including emergencies or illness.
If an emergency or illness occurs, please contact Laura as soon as possible using the private contact information provided in your welcome email.
Communication of Absences
If you know ahead of time that you will miss a class, please notify Laura as early as possible. While notification does not change payment obligations, it helps with planning and classroom setup.
Refund Policy
Refunds are not issued within two weeks prior to the first day of class.
If you decide not to attend after purchasing and request a refund more than two weeks before the first class, a refund may be issued minus a $10 administrative unenrollment fee.
Refunds are processed to the original payment method. No cash refunds are available.
No-Show Policy
A “no-show” is defined as failing to attend a scheduled class without prior communication. We all get sick and life pops up, I understand. Please text or email of your absence.
No-shows are:
· Non-refundable
· Not eligible for rescheduling
Instructor Cancellations
In the rare event Laura must cancel a class due to emergency, illness, or weather, all enrolled students will be notified promptly. A text message as well as an email will be provided.
A make-up class or credit will be provided at Laura’s discretion. Western New York winter weather is very unpredictable. Driving can be very dangerous during snow and ice, please use your discretion and best judgement. Please do not travel if there is a county driving ban where you live. Laura will cancel classes approximately (2) hours before class starts via text and email. Class credit may not be exchanged for refund or cash.
Agreement to Terms
By purchasing a class session, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to this Cancellation Policy.
As a sole proprietor and working artist, Laura relies on consistent enrollment to sustain her business and provide high-quality instruction. Your understanding and cooperation are deeply appreciated.
Thank You
Thank you for supporting a local artist and investing in your creative growth. I’m excited for you to create, learn, and explore art with me. Questions, please email Laura >
