October 2026: Beginning Drawing Class - Session 1
October 3, 10, 17, 24, 2026
Welcome into my old farmhouse art studio! I am so happy you are considering beginner drawing classes! This class is for the ones who love to draw, or have always wanted to learn to draw without the heavy college course feel. This session will teach you how to draw for today. This means, I will teach you how to draw everyday moments (much like a visual journal), beginning perspective, how to see shapes, drawing fundamentals and techniques such as hatching and creating tonal values.
Each Saturday we will begin with warm-up exercises for your hands and brains. Once warmed up we will have a few lessons, practice and end the class with a full compositional drawing in your sketchbook. You will learn to draw everyday objects, people, buildings, landscapes, items that bring you joy along with seasonal items.
Each session builds on the skills you learned in previous sessions, however, new students joining in for this and later sessions will be able to learn new beginner-intermediate skills and join in seamlessly. I am thrilled to have you join in my classes. Your drawing skills and creativity will be enhanced by the end of this session!
Supplies: Having good quality supplies will ensure your drawing success. Here is a list of the exact supplies you will need for this class. Each drawing class will use these same supplies so you will only have to purchase once, unless you run out. Most supplies will last you for years. Here is your art supply list >
Beginning students to intermediate students, advanced and mastery levels welcome as well.
